UNDP Signs Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The National University of Management (NUM)

August 14, 2020

Phnom Penh, 13 August 2020 Dr. Hor Peng, Rector of the National University of Management (NUM) and Mr. Nick Beresford, Resident Representative of the UN Development Programme (UNDP), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to frame and promote cooperation between the two parties.  This builds on several joint activities in recent years – most notably, the establishment of a UNDP-sponsored Centre of Excellence on the Digital Economy at the University’s central Phnom Penh campus.

The MOU which initially will run for two years specifies several areas of cooperation, including: capacity building and training, joint research efforts, and the development of databases and informational resources, alongside general systems and institutional strengthening.  The MOU will be followed up by a work programme to concretize joint future activities.

Nick Beresford commented “UNDP recognizes NUM’s emergence as a leading institution within Cambodia’s higher education sector and a research leader in the field of management science and applied economics. UNDP welcomes the opportunity to partner with such a key player in unlocking Cambodia’s full potentials.”
