UNDP will strengthen the leadership of the national gender mainstreaming mechanisms to foster accountability for implementing responsive economic, social, and governance priorities set out under the national strategy for gender equality (Neary Rattanak IV), and to promote a) gender responsive decision making processes and b) an increase in the number and capacity of women in leadership and decision making positions, across the civil service, national and subnational government, and the national assembly.
Working with the disability authorities and PWD organizations, UNDP will support efforts to align the legal framework with international standards. Upon the request of Parliament, as part of the UN system, UNDP will participate in the dialogue with the National Assembly on priority human development issues. UNDP will explore possibilities to strengthen public participation in sectors such as the public services delivery, environment and natural resource management. UNDP will continue the on-going support to the media on human capital and disability.
