    Neary Rattanak IV is the five-year strategic plan (2014 – 2018) for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women in Cambodia. In accordance with the current situation in the country and Phase III of the Rectangular Strategy for Growth, Employment, Equity and Efficiency, the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, in partnership with relevant ministries/institutions and other partners, has developed the strategic plan Neary Rattanak IV to continue the government’s eff orts to promote gender equality and the empowerment of women in Cambodia.

    The Multimedia Initiative for Youth Civic Education in Cambodia’ is a governance project funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as part of its Strengthening Democracy Programme. Renamed to the public as ‘Loy9’, since September 2010, BBC Media Action in Cambodia has been funded by UNDP to reach young people aged 15-24 with key information about democratic institutions and civic participation through this multimedia intervention of TV, radio, online and mobile content and live events.

  • Violence Against Women 2009

    VAW has a serious impact not only on those who experience it, but on the country's social and economic situation as well. To address the serious toll that DV is taking on Cambodia, the RGC has made reducing DV a priority. In particular, the RGC is focused on addressing the CMDG 3, which aims to "promote gender equality and empower women" and overall target 8 within this goal, which is to "reduce significantly all forms of VAW and children." This final report contributes evidence in support of the RGCs strategy to reduce DV.

  • Baseline Survey Report on Domestic Violence

    The purpose of this baseline survey is to gain understanding of the existing types and definitions of domestic violence from the perspectives of respondents, past actions taken, and social and cultural perceptions in the target villages. This survey was conducted before implementation of the Community Conversations project in the surveyed area, which attempts to address domestic issues and seeks solutions for violence against women and other problems that are barriers to women exercising their rights.
